  • Continuing the description of what I recommend to visit Vilnius certainly could not miss the National Museum of LITHUANIA which is right in the Lithuanian capital. Well if you are visiting the Cathedral are practically next door to the Museum, in fact after visiting the Cathedral, exiting the main entrance turn right and continue for about 500 meters the Arsenalo st. you will find yourself in front of the statue of King Mindaugas IE the first Lithuanian ruler behind which there is the Museum. entry cost approximately EURO 4 but I can say that they are well spent. In fact for the visit of the Museum will take you about 1 hour or maybe more and admire everything about Lithuanian culture starting from primordial finds primitive age coming then to admire beautiful paintings of Lithuanian authors of which I was able to appreciate the great beauty. The Council also to stop to buy at the ticket office a few souvenirs that can consist of reproductions of works kept in the Museum. So if you find yourself in Vilnius I highly recommend not to miss the visit of the National Museum which is the most important part of the whole Lithuania.

  • Most of expositions do not change for decades (there is one, which I remember from two decades ago). You are not allowed to photograph (even with a phone). I love history museums, but I'm feeling shame for this one. You'd better visit Palace of the Grand Dukes nearby.
  • It was just a quick visit up the funicular railway to the tower to look down on most of Vilnius. Just €1 to take the railway but then €4 to go up the tower. Great view and probably lots of interesting things in the museum, just didn't have the time. Very worth a visit even if just for the view.
  • An eclectic collection of local exhibits. Not too many surprises, but a very nice place.
  • Didelis pastatas
  • The museum isn't very large but they have some nice objects to see. I missed some background information on objects though.
