Learn about the history of currency and banking at Money Museum of the Bank of Lithuania, which explores the country's economic development through the ages. Housed within the national bank, the museum introduces visitors to Lithuanian monetary history via a multitude of exhibits and displays. Wander the five different halls spread out over two stories and take advantage of the many interactive terminals (complete with touchscreens), which can give you an electronic overview of topics inside the museum. Follow Lithuania's trials in the Soviet period and its transition to a market economy, and be sure to stop by the exhibit charting Lithuanian currency from the days of the Grand Duchy to the 20th century. At the end you can test your knowledge with a quiz and, if you succeed, you'll win a souvenir banknote with your very own portrait. • We planned to hike in this Museum, because among us was a numismatist. In the end, turned out to be very interesting to all. Let's start with the fact that the Museum is located in the heart of the old town, and the entrance to it is free! Pluses on this end. Quite an interesting exposition occupies 2 floors and presents the history of money from ancient times to the N.V. in the Museum many interactive objects, we can and must complete quests and receive fancy gifts and souvenirs (music on demand, dollar bill with your photo, Checkout how much you gold, silver, etc. etc.). Russians are also interesting exhibits of the Soviet times.

  • Great museum with free entrance and amazingly friendly personnel
  • Very tiny, yet very interesting. Great, little museum on the history of currency in Lithuania and around the world. All information in English. Well worth a visit. Free entrance.
  • Free entrance. You should start exhibition from the basement (stairs on the right straight off the entrance). Interactive museum with a lot of info about global currencies, there are a few games and free gifts.
  • If you like money you will love it. They have couple good interactive attractions. The down side is that place is quite small
