Money Museum of the Bank of Lithuania, Vilnius
(4.6/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
Learn about the history of currency and banking at Money Museum of the Bank of Lithuania, which explores the country's economic development through the ages. Housed within the national bank, the museum introduces visitors to Lithuanian monetary history via a multitude of exhibits and displays. Wander the five different halls spread out over two stories and take advantage of the many interactive terminals (complete with touchscreens), which can give you an electronic overview of topics inside the museum. Follow Lithuania's trials in the Soviet period and its transition to a market economy, and be sure to stop by the exhibit charting Lithuanian currency from the days of the Grand Duchy to the 20th century. At the end you can test your knowledge with a quiz and, if you succeed, you'll win a souvenir banknote with your very own portrait. • Vilnius money Museum is small and is free, but fun in a lot of exposure. Good cash history shows sign of Lithuania and neighbouring countries, there is a good collection of foreign banknotes and coins.

  • A very interesting place, and with free entry. Tells the story of money, you can learn about the currencies of the countries of the world (information is relevant, quickly add all changes-a month after the denomination in Belarus, and notes and a complete description is already there). Many coins on and still have all sorts of interactivity. Highly recommend a visit!
