Castle Hill, Vilnius

(380+ reviews on the web)
Landmark
Head to the top of Castle Hill for expansive views of the capital and the Neris River while exploring the remains of a 13th century castle. Walk the cobbled path up the hill, or hop on the funicular for a quick ride up. To get even higher, or for 360-degree views, climb the Gediminas Tower, a structure remaining from the old castle. A small museum displaying information on Lithuanian history, artifacts, and a model of what the city looked like during medieval times is also here. The hike up the hill is moderately challenging, so if you have limited mobility take the funicular. Put Castle Hill at the forefront of your travel plans using our Vilnius holiday planner.

  • Soon, it seems, will lose its main almost Vilnius landmarks and most beautiful: it offers beautiful views of Vilnius and of the central part of the city you can admire the Castle. But all kind of messes up the mountain, zaamkovaja herself Kotor slump in the truest sense of the word.

  • With wonderful views of the hill itself, he climbed on the funicular, the ticket costs 1 € (one way). With upland Hill offers spectacular views of the city from all 4 sides. The ruins of the castle on the mountain, polazali on them, looked interesting images are obtained. On the mountain blowing very strong wind (strong), although the weather was windless, so be careful, hold on tight young children and hats)).
