Castle Hill, Vilnius

(420 reviews on the web)
Landmark Tourist Spot
Head to the top of Castle Hill for expansive views of the capital and the Neris River while exploring the remains of a 13th century castle. Walk the cobbled path up the hill, or hop on the funicular for a quick ride up. To get even higher, or for 360-degree views, climb the Gediminas Tower, a structure remaining from the old castle. A small museum displaying information on Lithuanian history, artifacts, and a model of what the city looked like during medieval times is also here. The hike up the hill is moderately challenging, so if you have limited mobility take the funicular. Put Castle Hill at the forefront of your travel plans using our Vilnius holiday planner.
