  • For us this was quite a walk and if you then get there we found it not so special. But it was getting cold and windy so could be part of it. Bit of a let down after the city centre.  more »
  • The bastion is one of the many testimonies in Vilnius of the good times of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth signed during the middle ages: it is a kind of stronghold with adjoining walls perfectly-and fortunately-preserved thanks to ligia authorities towards the beauty of the area, a concept that we Italians should partly revisit. As in almost all Lithuanian museums tickets cost is negligible compared to services offered and prices that instead we are used to in Italy-and allows you to visit the entire rampart, climbing up the walls, where you can enjoy a splendid panorama that includes the domes of the many churches built in the city and a portion of the independent Republic of Uzupis : inside the building you can discover the medieval Lithuania with weapons and armor, cannons and explanations-in English-in the nation's history in this particular era. Very entertaining a chance to test their knowledge about what learned with an interactive game in the basement and staff.
