  • This museum is very interesting, is not easy to locate, and the area is very nice since it has a lake and lots of green. There was no tour or information in English, only a small plane. We did visit for free, at times there are enough people because there are local tours, and worth seeing what was that not so long ago, also there are dolls and audio in different rooms.

  • The cold war Museum is very interesting and chilling at the same time. Its name Saltojokaro located in a corner of the Zemaitija Park, went to the office of information ask tour in English there was no one, therefore, to do it for free with a brochure that is 0.60. A pity, you lose lots of history. The truth that gives a little thingy to see all this and think that until not so long ago worked. It opened in 2011, was a former Soviet nuclear missiles of the 1960's underground base, albergo rockets until 1978. It was one of the most interesting things I saw in this country.

  • Another incredible ‘eye-opener’ when visiting Lithuania. A nuclear ballistic missile base only dismantled a few years ago by the Russians, yet based in Lithuania. Today it is a museum and whilst centr...  more »

  • Nobody in the entrance (4€). Awesome museum but all machinery, radios, power generators and legacy bunker devices were missing, even the buttons!!. Almost everything in english. A lantern is a plus for seeing trough the locked doors. There is another complex (old military houses) in the opposite base direction.
  • This was great! It's a bit hard to get to so we rented a car and made the drive from Vilnius. The guide was helpful and helped us rent an audio guide in English. Almost all of the displays have English captions as well. The museum was very well done and worth your visit if you have the time. This was the highlight of my trip to Lithuania, but then again, I'm a nerd.
  • Good place for some history from soviet times. Nice that no one rocket was released from this point!
  • You get to see soviet nuclear launch site. And if that is not enough there are numerous exhibits abou cold war 10/10 would visit again. All exhibits have signs in english plus you can borrow audio guide.
  • What an experiance.
