  • The hills above the river Neris-practically all that remained of the legendary first capital of Lithuania, which in 1390 was burnt to ashes by the Crusaders and was no longer restored. Between the hills paved pedestrian wooden walkways. One of the trails leads to the open-air museum "reconstruction of settlements of craftsmen" who like children. Entrance to the Museum is free. Here, of course, you need to come in good weather, to really enjoy. Beautiful and very well kept place.

  • I would recommend to visit the museum first and then to walk around. History from Ace age till Middle Ages, short films showing craftsmen skills, instruments and history in brief. I enjoyed. A little ...  more »
  • Kernavé-an important place in the history of Lithuania, interesting archaeological site. But it is worth a visit and those who do not know the story all too well and is not interested in archaeology. The picturesque valley of the river Neris, the high hills settlement, well-groomed territory, neat steps and walkways-all this deserves attention and allows you to enjoy walks. The only prerequisite is a good dry weather.
