Devil's Museum, Kaunas

(3.1/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Fortified with artifacts and pieces donated by visitors, Devil's Museum houses more than 3,000 displays of devil depictions from cultures and regions across the globe. Originally begun by collector Antanas Zmuidzinavicius in his own home, the museum formed as a tribute after his death. Stop by the facility and explore three stories of artwork, focused primarily on carvings and sculptures featuring devils and other similar creatures of legend. Note that many are carved or grafted onto simple household items, giving them a personal quality. Be sure to keep an eye out for Zmuidzinavicius' own artwork, often illustrating ghastly scenes of violence and punishment doled out by devils upon those that have deceived; these are housed in an exhibit along with other devil-themed works from the nations of the former Soviet Union. • This is rather rare type of museum - thema devils sculptures and etc. Native art lovers - welcome, satanists can go by (this is not this type of museum)
  • Museum has even 3,000 exhibits. Museum is founded by the lithuanian artist A.Zmuidzinavicius, but now there are a lot of works from many other countries: Mexico, Japan, Cuba, Russia, Armenia...
