Discover the history of modern and contemporary art, mainly through sculptures and installations, at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein. Stand in front of this "black box," and see how its hand-carved surface reflects the surrounding landscape of the Rhine Valley. Enter, and you'll find that inside the black box sits a perfect white cube. Six exhibit rooms are arranged around two diametrically opposed staircases. The collection features abstract, minimal, and conceptual art, Arte Povera, symbolism, futurism, surrealism, the individual mythologies of Joseph Beuys, and much more. The museum collection happens to be the national art collection of the principality of Liechtenstein. It is an interesting museum particularly for the modern art lovers. Nice architecture. Nice shop. There is a nice cafe at the entrance.
The building itself is quite nice and usually the art shown is worth a visit. The prices are too high for most visitors i believe. In the bright and comfortable cafe sushi is served.
A landmark building in vaduz with its modern design
Intriguing modern art
The most expensive (shockingly so) Museum Cafe I've ever seen anywhere in the world!
It made for a nice, quiet, and uncrowded, Sunday afternoon treat.
