3.5/5 based on 70+ reviews on the web
Discover the history of modern and contemporary art, mainly through sculptures and installations, at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein. Stand in front of this "black box," and see how its hand-carved surface reflects the surrounding landscape of the Rhine Valley. Enter, and you'll find that inside the black box sits a perfect white cube. Six exhibit rooms are arranged around two diametrically opposed staircases. The collection features abstract, minimal, and conceptual art, Arte Povera, symbolism, futurism, surrealism, the individual mythologies of Joseph Beuys, and much more. The museum collection happens to be the national art collection of the principality of Liechtenstein. • Sixty euro for below-average Sushi. We only went in because the decor and design of the building was modern but were stunned at having to pay sixty euro for sushi that would only cost $10 in New Zeala...  read more »
  • When you visit this small town the feeling of being in a small favor box is immediately palpable, the perception of art as a resource is made evident by the presence of works in every corner, square, primarily. It is the sublimation of this museum that despite the size of the city can boast inside works of the highest order, I was lucky enough to attend to a temporary with Picasso, Klimt, Giacometti and many others that museums far more noble dream. One minor demerit on an adjoining restaurant and shop with prices quite prohibitive for boys and normal students. I will be back.

  • It is an interesting museum particularly for the modern art lovers. Nice architecture. Nice shop. There is a nice cafe at the entrance.
  • The building itself is quite nice and usually the art shown is worth a visit. The prices are too high for most visitors i believe. In the bright and comfortable cafe sushi is served.
  • A landmark building in vaduz with its modern design
  • Intriguing modern art
  • The most expensive (shockingly so) Museum Cafe I've ever seen anywhere in the world!
  • It made for a nice, quiet, and uncrowded, Sunday afternoon treat.
