Looking out over the bay of Jounieh toward Beirut, Our Lady of Lebanon attracts Christian and Muslim pilgrims from around the world. Standing atop a majestic spiral staircase/stone base, the 8 m (26.2 ft) bronze statue of the Virgin Mary encloses a monumental 100 seat-shrine located underneath. Ride the cable car to the top of the hill, located 650 m (2132.5 ft) above sea level, then climb the sloping 19th-century stairway to the base of the statue, where a panoramic view of the city rewards your efforts. • The scenery here is breathtaking - you are at the top of the mountain. You can come here by car or by cable car from Jounieh. The church is open only for masses and preyers, so rather hard to visit...

  • Some pretty fantastic views from here on a good day. I was quite happy at this spot looking over the city and towards the Mediterranean Sea. It was just stunning.
