A Beirut landmark adorning the former 10-pound banknote, Pigeon Rocks in Raouche stand in a bay like giant sentinels. Today, these curious offshore limestone arches are the focal point of a popular hangout spot. A leisurely stroll along the promenade will take you straight to the rocks, which you can observe from a cliff. You can also descend the cliffs for a view from the sea, exploring inlets and caves in the cliff. Cliffside cafes overlooking the bay and restaurants in the area attract tourists and locals alike, while small boat rides bring you around the rocks during summer. • Lovely to look at, but don't need much time. Can check it out during a drive by when one is in the area. Sadly, one sees plenty of trash in the sea around it.

  • The Pidgeon rock is a very iconic natural monument. The view is great, and the numerous cafes with a great view of it make it perfect to visit any time of the year.

  • Unless you are staying in a hotel nearby or grabbing a bite to eat, this viewpoint is only a 15-20 minute stop in your day. It was beautiful at sunset, but I had hoped for a more intimate experience.....  more

  • Off the coast of Raouché, there is a natural landmark called the Pigeons' Rock (also known as the Rock of Raouché). Located at Beirut's westernmost tip, the two huge rock formations, which stand like gigantic sentinels, are a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. Raouché also is claimed to be the remains of a sea monster the Greek hero Perseus killed to save Andromeda. The stone is rock as Perseus used Medusa’s head on the monster to turn it into stone.
  • It's a beautiful place to take pictures, I advice you to go there. You can use public transportation (Bus) that takes you to everywhere in Beirut. You should be careful to use taxi frequently because they charge you extra money.
