Easily recognizable by its blue domes, Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque represents a Sunni place of worship and a major architectural landmark of Beirut. Completed in 2008, the imposing structure is designed in a grandiose Ottoman style and boasts towering, 65 m (213 ft) tall minarets. The Lebanese prime minister Rafic Hariri, who made a major donation toward the mosque's building costs, is buried beside the iconic structure.   • Mohammed Al-Amin Mosque is one of the most unmistakable landmarks of Beirut. Be sure to walk by both during the day and during the night when it's lighten up. 
  • When visiting Beirut, this mosque should be on the to-do list. It is really worth. Even from the outside, it looks gigantic and you should absolutely go. The atmosphere is unique and you can leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind for a moment.

  • Oct 2014 - A visit to Beirut will not be completed if I didn't visit this mosque. Very serene, quiet, and peaceful.
