View of Riga from St Peter's Church Tower, Riga
(4/5 based on 1,500+ reviews on the web)
Get a 360-degree View of Riga from St Peter's Church Tower. Take the elevator to reach the 72 m (236 ft) high observation platform, then look down to see the diverse architecture, the remains of ancient city walls, the markets, and the squares of the town. Ancient chronicles from 1209 first mention the wooden tower, which, at the time, was the highest in Europe. You can watch a film about the church's restoration of the spire while waiting for the elevator. Notice the rooster on the spire--a precise replica of the previous one and the seventh rooster in all. Bring a jacket; it can be windy at the top. • Well worth a trip up the bell tower. A bit expensive at 9 euro for basically a 5 minute stay. A lift takes you to the viwing gantry half way up the tower. The views are superb for all 360 degrees.
  • As I mentioned in my review on the Church in question, the climb the tower to see the city from above is from this perspective is absolutely something to do in your stay in Riga! The view from here is spectacular, and choose a sunny or clear and serene enough to stand and watch the show, you can get a better idea of her Line from here!!

  • Despite slightly high price of €9, we went to the tower. The people were very friendly and it was written also in German. From there you have above an overview over the city! Very much recommended! We were all alone in the tower so was also no crowds!
