  • I rushed to this museum-apartment, just throwing a suitcase: free time traveling little and I really wanted to get acquainted with its Exposition (perhaps because I'm a fan of expressionism). This apartment, a collection of works by both artists, their personal belongings donated the town daughter Tatyana artists. Indeed, a full feeling that you come to another unfamiliar people: Elizabetes street you need by opening the fence to enter the courtyard; walk up to the entrance of a residential building; Click on the intercom unit number and climb to the 4-th floor. And there you will open the door to amazing female devotees of this Museum, which welcome you as dearest guest. For a nominal fee in Euro 2 (and if you're a retiree, even Russian, you will take just 1 euro) you find yourself in the amazing atmosphere of the Museum: Seeing my enthusiasm from early, jekspessionizma style, the works of both artists, from the exposition later pastels Aleksandra beļcova from their paintings on porcelain, acolyte in Russian Museum held a personal tour for me, and about the lives of the artists themselves, and about the amazing history of the life of the mother of Romans SUTA; She drew my attention to such detail that I could pass by itself; gave to browse through the book (of course, copy, but performed so that looks very natural) with sketches of Aleksandra Beļcova. And at the end they even gave me a postcard with the works of artists! I am very grateful to both employees of the Museum for the emphasis they have placed in me. And it is a pity that this museum is a little sign of Russian tourists, and something we know so little about these artists truly world-class.

  • It is worth to discover this place dedicated to two great artists. Romans Suta (1896, 1944) was one of the modernist painters of Riga of before the second war. Aleksandra Belcova (1892/1981), his wife, is also a great painter. In addition, she painted splendid plates of ceramics. This small museum, located in their home, is a gold mine to discover 2 talented local artists. Oh! the! but this place is hard to find... because, like many addresses to the Baltic countries, it is located in a yard or back. Here, it should be very attentive to the plate on Elizabetes Street, discreet. The entrance opens onto a courtyard. We go in, and to the right, the door is located. Then we climb a few floors (Elevator also) and voila, at no. 26! a cue: it's less than a block from the Cathedral.
