Robert's Books, Riga

4.8
#8 of 20 in Shopping in Riga
Robert`s Books is for people with hungry minds and open hearts. In a sense it is the place of Doing.

Born in a dynamic multi-cultural community it extols the values of knowledge grounded in deep understanding, dignity in thought and deed, as well as an integrated attitude towards culture and the arts.

This narrative is brought into reality by a second hand English bookshop, festive happenings and wide range of eclectic cultural projects.

  • Came across this unique bookshp/cafe by accident as it is down a little alleyway between other buildings. As a librarian it was my idea of heaven, so many books divided by genre and a simple pricing s...  more »
  • There are quite a lot book selection in English, but also a few German books! The team is very, very friendly and looking for the conversation. The coffee is awesome! Highly recommended quiet hours away from the tourist flow surrounded by books to spend!

  • A very lovely place. The staff consists exclusively of spectacular human beings. It's cosy, it's central, it's artsy and it's cool. My most favourite aspect is their hosting of events including amazing open mic nights packed full with talent from all different kinds of art spheres.
  • A lovely small store for (mostly) used books in English. They also have cakes and coffee. Very friendly service. A gem!
  • Really nice place to sit and read, or sit outside and chat. Good place to come in the evening for wine or beer. Good selection of books. A really lovely hidden spot. Nice souvenirs, books postcards etc.
  • Cozy place to have coffee and read books. We chatted with the girl that was running the place. Very nice person and interesting to talk to.
  • Nice place to chill, drink coffee have some cake or rent Vespa

Where to stay in Riga

As tourism surges in Riga, accommodation options and variety have grown too. The Baltic capital has quality lodging for every budget, from centrally located and affordable hostels, to private apartments and hotel rooms, to chic main-street hotels. The Old Town, a World Heritage Site, sits at the center of it all, so consider staying here if you want to be in the thick of things. For lower prices, look slightly outside of the city's core but within walking distance. For somewhere a little quieter, check out neighborhoods like Agenskalns and Tornakalns, which are less touristy, well-preserved districts.
