Riga Motormuseum, Riga

4.7
#5 of 102 in Museums in Latvia
Featuring more than 100 cars, motorcycles, and army wagons, Riga Motormuseum represents the largest exhibit of antique vehicles in the Baltic region. In a 3,278 sq m (35,284 sq ft) building, these machines showcase the history of mass production. You'll see Latvian vehicles, collections from Russia, and imported automobiles from the United States and Europe, some over a century old. Check out saved scrap vehicles and encounter some oddly shaped antiques that look nothing like the automobiles of today. • New Museum, cars are real, and very beautiful! Museum in 3 floors, there are trucks and buses. On some machines and bus you can even climb/touch, that is very interesting for children:) everything was on the level, the price is quite high but it is worth it! Alexander

  • Very nice place, especially if you are into rare cars from the Soviet era. Also a rich collection of cars from the 20s and 30s from USA and European countries. It features some didactic demonstrations on how different parts of a car work as well! A must if you are visiting Riga.
  • Large collection of cars. Everything is in an excellent condition. Worthy of a visit. Little bit pricey.
  • top museum with a good collection of soviet, american and german autos. very well organized with gift shop and coffee shop. free parking.
  • If your in Rigá then hope on a bus & go visit! Ok it's €10 to get in but u'll see car's that you sure won't see here! It's not that large and doesn't take that long to see it all! But I enjoyed it, there is a stall which projects your image into a car and you can have the photos sent to your email, which is cool!
  • Excellent place to see the old collection of cars. The museum was excellent to learn about the inventions and mechanical activity. So I suggest students and tourist people to visit this museum and witness about the collection of old cars and technology. I enjoyed and wondering about the great inventions in the olden days ... my favourite was BMW bike and Rolls Royce car ....

Where to stay in Riga

As tourism surges in Riga, accommodation options and variety have grown too. The Baltic capital has quality lodging for every budget, from centrally located and affordable hostels, to private apartments and hotel rooms, to chic main-street hotels. The Old Town, a World Heritage Site, sits at the center of it all, so consider staying here if you want to be in the thick of things. For lower prices, look slightly outside of the city's core but within walking distance. For somewhere a little quieter, check out neighborhoods like Agenskalns and Tornakalns, which are less touristy, well-preserved districts.
