#6 of 63 in Museums in Latvia
Specialty Museum Museum
Featuring more than 100 cars, motorcycles, and army wagons, Riga Motormuseum represents the largest exhibit of antique vehicles in the Baltic region. In a 3,278 sq m (35,284 sq ft) building, these machines showcase the history of mass production. You'll see Latvian vehicles, collections from Russia, and imported automobiles from the United States and Europe, some over a century old. Check out saved scrap vehicles and encounter some oddly shaped antiques that look nothing like the automobiles of today. With our online itinerary creator, Riga attractions like Riga Motormuseum can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

Where to stay in Riga

As tourism surges in Riga, accommodation options and variety have grown too. The Baltic capital has quality lodging for every budget, from centrally located and affordable hostels, to private apartments and hotel rooms, to chic main-street hotels. The Old Town, a World Heritage Site, sits at the center of it all, so consider staying here if you want to be in the thick of things. For lower prices, look slightly outside of the city's core but within walking distance. For somewhere a little quieter, check out neighborhoods like Agenskalns and Tornakalns, which are less touristy, well-preserved districts.

  • This is a good way out of central Riga. We got a taxi both ways as it didnt seem too accesible by public transport. It is all new and modern with some interesting displays and artifacts.  more »

  • Beautiful museum, very well done and expansive. The tour guide was very engaging and gave some extra insight. Overall I would recommend this museum to anyone, not just the car enthusiast
  • Perfect renovation of antique cars museum. Very nice and interactive. Three stages of nice vehicles! Cards are accepted for entrance and food but , during cold times you will need 1 EUR coin, for just to put into the locker.
  • Absolutely stunning collection of old cars. Mostly European brands spanning from the early 1900s on up to the 1980s. A true hidden gem and a must see for any gear head visiting Riga.
  • Amazing exhibition, modern experience, tons of interesting things to see. Allow no less than 2 hours for your visit. 10 Euros per person, but well worth the money.
  • Contains a great collection of antique cars, but lacks any information on current technologies. Good for history up to 1980ies, but no further. Too expensive for what it offers also.
