  • When you visit should be aware that specific Museum. This is not a photograph, not a painting. It is a medicine and everything associated with it. So expect something magically beautiful. The exposition is located on several floors, each floor is dedicated to a specific period in the history of medicine, ranging from primitive society and ending with modernity. On the second floor you can see the gloomy middle ages, this is the strongest impression. Not worth the walk in the Museum with young children

  • Visited with children. A large Museum, several floors, tells the story of how the ancient people were treated and how medicine has evolved further. Very impressive. The exposition are made with care and love. Individual spots may seem somewhat gloomy for children (e.g. medieval). Adults can think about eternal ...

  • Strongly not recommend. Exhibition is very poor and small. Advertisements are lying about it. There aren't any famous or exclusive things. You may find there a cheap souvenir from regular shop as exhibit! Terrible! Also you may be kicked off if working time is over with no excuses. I was very disappointed.
  • Impresive. Specialy 2 head dog.
  • It's ok done. I found it a good waste of 30 mins. The hooman who we bought the tickets from did not tell us about the special extra exhibit that needed another ticket, so went downstairs and some Latvian woman asked for our "bilet", and then we showed her our ticket and she was like "no". Oh well.
  • We were a little disappointed by the museum! You feel like traveling back in time to Sowjet Riga in the 1970. Pretty weird stuff... Also only about 1/3 of the signs is in english. At least it's cheap.
  • Huge collection of items .. Nice display of historical equipments and narrates the history of many great Doctors and Scientists .

Where to stay in Riga

As tourism surges in Riga, accommodation options and variety have grown too. The Baltic capital has quality lodging for every budget, from centrally located and affordable hostels, to private apartments and hotel rooms, to chic main-street hotels. The Old Town, a World Heritage Site, sits at the center of it all, so consider staying here if you want to be in the thick of things. For lower prices, look slightly outside of the city's core but within walking distance. For somewhere a little quieter, check out neighborhoods like Agenskalns and Tornakalns, which are less touristy, well-preserved districts.
