  • This is one of two museums in Riga that Board to see! Currently it is placed in a new home for the work they are doing in the old location: is a museum that explains what happened in Latvia over the years, all well illustrated and explained but in English and if you want there is always the possibility of taking the audio guide in English!! Well worth a visit because it will make you think and make you understand the story in its entirety!

  • The Museum of the occupation is now housed in a former Soviet Museum of Latvian Red riflemen, and at the same time the area was called the same way in the same place and the monument stands Latvian Red riflemen. Nothing standing there, all distorted and turned upside down. Don't waste your precious time on it.

  • The main building is closed for renovation, cannot wait for it to be reopened. Interesting for anyone who digs history!
  • The main entrance was locked when we arrived around 4pm. Disappointed! We decided to give it a miss and crossed over to the other side of the Daugava River.
  • Free entry. Decent size. Mostly factual. Slight propaganda. The fact that it makes some Russian visitors as angry as to give 1 star to this museum is intriguing.
  • So fun to see angry and exclaiming russians there, they really think, that when you say "Soviet Union", you mean russians))))
  • Great modern history lesson about the people of Lativa ... Helps you understand the what these people (past generation) went through prior to independence ... A ""MUST SEE"" MUSEUM FOR ALL VISTIORS TO RIGA ...
