  • I've been to ethnographic museums in Finland & in Takayama, Japan but this is definitely my favourite as it has over 120 incredible wooden buildings that make you feel like you've stepped back in time...  more »
  • We visited the Ethnographical Museum, at a time when the event was held from 17-to 20 included decorative illumination and entry was cheaper by half. Just snow-and the whole area turned into a magical fairy tale. Since it was a weekday night, people had very little. Territory to visit within the framework of this event, was limited to just 1-4 against the full part of \ Park. In every house you can take a peek and see life in some houses you can visit. Please both kids and adults. There are picnic areas.

  • Interesting and boring at the same time. In the same area brought these houses and buildings from different parts of Latvia. Previously lived in these houses the ancient peoples that lived in the old days the territory of Latvia.

  • Absolutely amazing project of getting some even 300 years old log houses from the place they'd perish to here and displaying for all to see. Also has awesome blacksmiths hut where I've been shown ropes on how to use hammer, iron and fire. Very authentic and awesome place to visit, especially when the crafts market takes place
  • A good idea to learn about Latvia, if you are interested. You can see how these people lived, and gathered to reach today's modern life.
  • Nice open air museum. Plan to spend minimum 2-3 hours there. Good restoran available serving national food.
  • Good place to see real ethnography, original buildins of 15th century, great nature!
  • Rude staff and we almost didn't get in because card machine wasn't working at the entrance, but we had already payed for parking. Good for long walks, it takes about ~3h to see almost every old house.
