  • On a beautiful open-air museum, with many historic farms, mills and the like. I visited it in the wrong season, autumn, chilly wind, many already closed. My assessment is therefore not entirely objective. Go look especially if you are in a warmer season, there is much beauty to see.

  • Feeling that you can spend the whole day there, but only 3:00 ticket, it seems. Huge area with interesting houses and history. Delicious national cuisine restaurant directly on the territory of the Museum. Vacationing this summer with the child and husband. Impressions from visiting the best.

  • We took the No. 1 bus from the centre of Riga, and we were not disappointed by this museum. Although it was a cold autumn, the buildings and the grounds were fascinating. Only a limited number of hous...  more »

  • Absolutely amazing project of getting some even 300 years old log houses from the place they'd perish to here and displaying for all to see. Also has awesome blacksmiths hut where I've been shown ropes on how to use hammer, iron and fire. Very authentic and awesome place to visit, especially when the crafts market takes place
  • A good idea to learn about Latvia, if you are interested. You can see how these people lived, and gathered to reach today's modern life.
  • Nice open air museum. Plan to spend minimum 2-3 hours there. Good restoran available serving national food.
  • Good place to see real ethnography, original buildins of 15th century, great nature!
  • Rude staff and we almost didn't get in because card machine wasn't working at the entrance, but we had already payed for parking. Good for long walks, it takes about ~3h to see almost every old house.
