Latvian Academy of Sciences - Panorama Deck, Riga
(4.1/5 based on 380+ reviews on the web)
Housed in a typical Stalinist-style building, Latvian Academy of Sciences - Panorama Deck unites the country's greatest and most well-known scientists. As you approach the 108 m (354 ft) edifice, look for Latvian folk motifs and hammer-and-sickle communist symbols engraved upon it. Enter to see the building's dark, dated interior and climb to the 17th-floor balcony, the main attraction for visitors with its wide views of the city. Grab a booklet from the ticket office to learn more about the building's facts and history. Use our Riga vacation route planner to arrange your visit to Latvian Academy of Sciences - Panorama Deck and other attractions in Riga.

  • One of the "7 sisters" (this construction is present in other former Soviet countries). To see absolutely. Worth the visit with panoramic city views. I highly recommend it.

  • Did not go inside but from the outside, the building looks really magnificent. Check it out on a sunny day.
  • I took the lift up to the 15th floor, then climbed a further two floors to the viewing platform - this gives stunning views out over Riga. A very Soviet-style building!
