  • On a narrow street you should go ahead and notice the sign Museum ahead ... a small Museum occupies two rooms, the first room of the shop and the second Exposition itself. Tickets cost eur 1.5, but if you buy a product from amber room-you can visit the Museum free of charge. For that amount, the employee of the Museum and tell more interesting facts about the history of amber about the exhibits, but in the end you can sit in an easy chair and watch a movie about Baltic amber. In this room every inch of amber. The floor is laid out from the Karelian Birch and amber, encrusted walls tiled with natural amber, window stained glass amber too. In total, for the manufacture of the amber room of the Museum, was used by 600 kg of amber.

  • Amazing sunny place in the heart of old Riga. Very interesting amber room with possibility to buy some local souvenirs.  more »
  • Located in a very interesting part of the city is the old Hanseatic Riga is the nearby church of St. Peter and St. John's Lutheran Church. But there you can see the hotel "Konventa sēta"-in the past, this castle, built at the beginning of the 13th century the order of the sword. This ancient stone-paved street of Old Riga's Hanseatic actually no house numbers-every building of this complex has its own name, such as "Black Dove", "Motley", "House of Dove gray sisters", "stone wall", "at the monastery gates. «The Garden House», etc. One of them is the amber Museum. However, the Museum is a buzz word. This is a typical small shop decorations and craft projects from "sunny" stone with the adjacent "Amber Room"-muljazhom, issued under the known, alas, lost, relic. Naturally, "Amber Room" any way not even reproduces the splendor of the original, except that only its name. Just there collected objects and jewellery made from amber. No more. In the corner of the commercial part (it's a big part of the "Museum") is a small corner table of amber is beautiful and entertaining. Mistress willingly tells everyone that this is a forgery, saying that part of all of those items, which were made by modern artisans for the reconstruction of this "Amber Room". Table looks very nice. It is no coincidence that, again according to the owner, he laid eyes some Arab Sheikh and wanted to buy, but he politely but firmly refused-"history is not for sale." Actually, the Museum is strictly conditional concept (next is exactly the same "porcelain Museum"-plain antique shop with show room). As for the store, it is nice, there are individual woodworks. In General, however, they are from all the range and assortment of shops selling souvenirs of amber, now many in Moscow. The only difference is that here the amber from Latvia, there from Kaliningrad. But Baltic one ... Stop by and see you.
