Find good fortune at Wat Si Muang, a wooden worship temple known for its good luck, attracting visitors to come and make a wish. If the wish is granted, people return to the temple to offer gifts and to give thanks for their fulfilled wish. Intricate details and carvings engulf both the inside and outside of the building, and the golden shade of the walls helps it stand out from the surroundings. Don't miss the golden Buddha statue that sits under a tree in the garden, in front of the temple. This is the most famous local temple of the city, very active and not so touristic. There is an interesting story behind it. It is definitely worth a visit if you want to witness Lao spirituality. more »

A splendid historical site. Many tourist buses outside leaving their diesel engines running is a damn shame.

Most spiritual temple in city. Well known and great place to visit each special religious event

Describing this place as "busy" is right on the money. I was near here twice, and cars were always coming/going with families eager to go place gifts in the main temple building. The whole complex have several interesting buildings to look at from the outside; and being just enough away from central downtown probably means you'll be among more locals than tourists.

Powerful place. I think it is always worth it to visit a temple.
-
Noce ordinary temple. Clean and much more quiet than other touristic place in Vientiane. Not a must place
