  • A beautiful temple with colourful roof and nice architecture. There is also a school here within its premise. A visit here can be enjoyed in peace and quiet as this temple does not see many tourists.  more »
  • Together with Wat Ong Teu and Wat Inpeng, they are temples with no tourists. More like a monastery. Quiet. You could take your time to appreciate the art and space with no interference from group of t...  more »
  • Located in Vientiane and along the main street of setthathirath Street, norkeokummern Avenue corner. Relatively cheap hotels, cafés and restaurants are all in the neighborhood, on the corner of this temple stopped several Tuk-tuks always huge. In short, it's located in a busy place. Yellow pillars, red-brown triple roof a beautiful contrast to the temple was matched by the blue of the sky. Even in non-smoking signs. Round every year in the Festival's 11-made with banana leaf and stem boat light a candle and say that offering.

  • It's such a shame that they've taken the lovely little courtyard and gravel path that used to run between the school and the temple and paved it over with 20 tonnes of ugly grey concrete. Feel sad for the kids and the monks every time I walk through here now.
  • Nice Temple. Very quiet and slower pace like in the rest of the city.
  • Very quite and peacefully place.
  • Nice
  • Keep good cars

Where to stay in Vientiane

Pretty little Vientiane offers a good range of accommodations, with most either mid-range or upmarket hotels by national standards. Close to the riverfront sit the grandest of the bunch, with newly built high-rise hotels and boutiques set in old French colonial buildings. Move away from the water a little to find some standard, unassuming hotels, mixed in with a few more boutiques and high-rises overlooking the prettier plazas and along the main boulevards. For budget options, look at the guesthouses and hostels on the side streets around Rue Setthathilath, but make sure to reserve your room early to avoid disappointment.
