Vientiane Night Market, Vientiane

2.5
#3 of 16 in Shopping in Vientiane
Test your bargaining skills at Vientiane Night Market, which emerges every evening on the riverbank. As the sun sets, vendors start putting up their signature red tents on the promenade. Most of the goods--clothes, footwear, accessories for cellphones, and handbags--seem to cater to locals, but you can also find statues and paintings of Buddha, bottles of spirits preserving snakes and scorpions, and hand-crafted items clearly meant for tourists. The only thing you can’t buy from the stalls is food, but if you're feeling peckish, you can always check out the restaurants across the street. Our Vientiane trip itinerary planner makes visiting Vientiane Night Market and other Vientiane attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

As I have already had the opportunity to write, this established the evening in the Park, Chao Anouvong, market not a great interest, if it is to take place... at night and allowing to see in one place all the tourist may want to buy. But according to the women in our group, the exhibits do not differ from those offered by the various shops in Vientiane and are sold more expensive.

A flea market-style pedestrian street is open every evening. The private market is located at Princess road bent downward, adjacent to the khongboriwen River, the Don Chan sold mostly cheap but the quality isn't very good, so much is popular with locals who want to save. There are also counterfeit goods imported from China to sell too. Which ก้ได้ attention from tourists substantially.

Nice night shopping market...they sell clothes and bags, the locations near from friendship bridge laos-thailand, so we can walk along the mekong river and see the view of thailand from laos. The price is standar and you have to bargain half price... A bit hard to find souvenir of laos in here.

This is an interesting and fun walk in the evening. Lots of stalls with clothing and electronics for sale. Street food is available. You can see the sun go down over the Mekong River from the market.

Lively night market which open daily. Plenty stalls selling clothes and souvenirs. Popular place for the locals to hang out in evenings.

Where to stay in Vientiane

Pretty little Vientiane offers a good range of accommodations, with most either mid-range or upmarket hotels by national standards. Close to the riverfront sit the grandest of the bunch, with newly built high-rise hotels and boutiques set in old French colonial buildings. Move away from the water a little to find some standard, unassuming hotels, mixed in with a few more boutiques and high-rises overlooking the prettier plazas and along the main boulevards. For budget options, look at the guesthouses and hostels on the side streets around Rue Setthathilath, but make sure to reserve your room early to avoid disappointment.
