  • Bustling with life with all the food and clothes stalls... it is a nice place to go and understand more about the way of life of the local Lao people. The mall has got a nice food court on Level 3, wh...  more »

  • Talat Sao is one of the first markets you should visit in Vientiane. There are plenty of old-school 'nick-knacks' to be found on the grounds (next to the the bus depot), & bargaining is expected! The newer building gives a modern environment, with plenty of modern 'bits & bobs'. I love it!!
  • The place wasn't crowed, has basic stuffs like clothes and electronics thing. And I could find any restaurant inside, night market at Chao Anouvong park nearby was a lot better.
  • The main building here looks like it has seen better days with the top floor now sitting vacant. The more fun thing was to visit the booths in the shopping areas outside the main building. Good selection of souvenirs, clothes, electronics, etc. Not much in the way of food other than coffee shops.
  • Go inside the mall "grounds" but walk around the periphery outside of the building. MUCH more interesting and full of cheap items. NEGOTIATE!
  • You have to bargain really hard. They were selling bags for four and a half times as much as we bought the exact same for in a local, non tourist mall. Do not trust the prices there for anything. Can be ok if you don't mind haggling but definitely aimed at making the most out of foreigners. Head to Anavoung park night market for better prices.
