  • Not worth your time spent here. Unless you need the shelter. Close to the bus terminal and morning market.  more »
  • It is the largest one in Vientiane. Try to realize. And jumping fish, such as catfish spread market next to the bus station and go a little different sort of green vegetables, fruits, such as mango and lychee. Going into the roof of the building, corner of pork, chicken, eggs, fish appear one after the other. It was as much as does not buy any home, you want to cook more sadness of the traveller, the cooking is buying a mango and lychee, eat at the hotel. Of course, the price is cheap, taste is sweet and delicious.

  • This mall is old, run down, smelly and closes very early. Majority of the roller shutters of the shops are closed by 5 pm. The only advantage of shopping here is that the prices are very reasonable. I...  more »

  • not much of a mall, but it contains the morning market which extends around it, mostly in front of and on the sides, and up to the street near the bus station. this is where mainly Lao people shop and has respectively sized clothing of contemporary Laotian style, basically western, so you you have to look around. here are there a few interesting stands with unique Laotian crafts. If you are looking for fresh food and better deals, go to the Khua Din market (it is easy to miss because it is down a side street) that is just a block away by the bus station.
  • Centrally located. Just about everything can be found. Good food court on the 3FL annex.
  • More of a market. Kind of run down. But you can haggle here. Definitely a local place.
  • It's disorganized. I was surprised there was air con. Only two floors are occupied. You'll find a lot of Lao clothes, a Boots copy cat, a MiniSo in front (which is nice), a MiniSo knock-off in the back, and a lot of gold on the second floor.
  • considered big but i can see that they can make it more organized..

Where to stay in Vientiane

Pretty little Vientiane offers a good range of accommodations, with most either mid-range or upmarket hotels by national standards. Close to the riverfront sit the grandest of the bunch, with newly built high-rise hotels and boutiques set in old French colonial buildings. Move away from the water a little to find some standard, unassuming hotels, mixed in with a few more boutiques and high-rises overlooking the prettier plazas and along the main boulevards. For budget options, look at the guesthouses and hostels on the side streets around Rue Setthathilath, but make sure to reserve your room early to avoid disappointment.
