  • In reviews of this attraction should be done order, more than one (photos included) refer to another statue and at another place. Fa Ngum statue with its elephants Commons is located at one of the entrances of the city next to the Crowne Plaza, nothing outstanding artistically, but is revered almost like a Buddha, indeed Fa Ngum is the very origin of the country, is the one who founded Lane Xang, is the one who with his alliance with the khmer of Angkor in their full glory crop place in history in this small country that is the Laos. There are people in my family that every year they go to pay homage to him, I realize that this is superstition, but gives an idea of the importance and respect enjoyed by these fetishes.

  • The statue is situated in a nice park that will give much to go by along the river and in the midst of all this beautiful statue is worth a visit

  • Large statue recent and probably in bronze, erected on a plinth in memory of CHAO ANOUVONG, prince of Vientiane, died in captivity in Bangkok after he had been defeated and captured by the SIAMESE around 1830. The statue in it is banal; the site with a small lake and a park around is not unpleasant but unfortunately not very well maintained. The site is especially for the beautiful look that one has on the loop of the MEKONG along which stretches the city of Vientiane. Unfortunately, the banks of the River are crowded with many rubbish and plastic bags that spoil the fun. In short, visit do not linger there.
