  • We participated in the "Nests trekking" for three days. The hiking trail was how you imagine a jungle. A really nice experience. The experience with the local people was nice as well. But there are pr...  more »
  • We took part in the 2-day excursion on the river called the Night Safari in the National Park Nam Et Phou Louey to January 2017. My wife and I were accompanied by a Park Guide, from the village chief and his aide. After visiting the village on the road from Sam Neua leads to Nong Khiaw we began the ascent of the River with a boat even surpassing some Rapids. In 2 hours we reached all eco lodge that would have accommodated for the night and after a break for lunch, we continued for another 2 hours along the River until a small beach on which we lit the fire to prepare dinner. Listening to tales of terrifying Tigers eaters of men waited for the darkness to pursue down the River with the engine off in an attempt to discern the wildlife with the help of torches. Bright eyes we observed in this quiet trip home. Deer, monkeys, Tigers, Civets and, who knows maybe we escorted her gaze at our lodge in the forest where under Pandey blankets we had a magical night. The next day after a breakfast of eggs and bananas we returned by boat to the village where the expedition leader distributed the money we paid for some residents. More wildlife you can see more organizers distribute money to the village. This is to discourage poaching and give job opportunities to locals. We recommend putting a tourist agency of Laos to set it up. Is not easy (even if possible) to reach the starting point of the excursion by public transport so you better get help.
