Patok Cave, Nong Khiaw
(1/5 based on 70+ reviews on the web)
At Patok Cave, see the place that served as a sanctuary for the soldiers during the Vietnam War. Rich with history, the network of three caves offers a chance to see how and in what conditions the soldiers lived during the difficult period. To get to the first cave, you’ll need to cross a small bridge. Despite its small size, you probably won’t be able to touch the ceiling of the initial cave. Turn left to get to the second, which is larger and leads straight into the third. Make sure to bring a flashlight and spare batteries in order to thoroughly explore the caves. • Because there is not so much to visit for travellers who are not backpackers, and it becomes quickly boring, we visited the cave. You must climb many extremely narrow stairs to see a large cave, which offers nothing but otherwise.

  • The walk there and back was very pleasant. It's a cave and compared to many other caves around this area isn't anything special.
  • We went to the cave as it was raining in the cave at least is dry! Entrance is paid, and the cave is divided into several sectors in which residents were hiding during the bombing.
