Patok Cave, Nong Khiaw

(1/5 based on 75+ reviews on the web)
At Patok Cave, see the place that served as a sanctuary for the soldiers during the Vietnam War. Rich with history, the network of three caves offers a chance to see how and in what conditions the soldiers lived during the difficult period. To get to the first cave, you’ll need to cross a small bridge. Despite its small size, you probably won’t be able to touch the ceiling of the initial cave. Turn left to get to the second, which is larger and leads straight into the third. Make sure to bring a flashlight and spare batteries in order to thoroughly explore the caves. • Locals lived in this cave during the US bombing of Laos, and it serves as an essential reminder of the impact of modern warfare on civilian populations. The cave itself is quite small and there is not...  more »
  • Attraction to roam the nearby countryside, but we can do better especially that it must follow the road along the way, unless you rent a bike because the cave is still more than 2 kilometers. The well entrance ticket that can high is not justified, the guide who expects his tip either.
