Landmark Tourist Spot
Make new friends at Whisky Village, where locals offer taste tests no matter what time of day. Learn about the traditional ways the locals brew moonshine often used in ceremonies, which is now a cultural treasure of the nation. They even contribute what they think to be "magical powers" to the liquor, so don't be surprised to see animal paws, bones, whole snakes, and scorpions inside the liquor bottles. Get memorabilia at one of the many small souvenir stores, or bring home a bottle or two of the villagers' specialty drink. • This is definitely a tourist trap that you're sure to visit on your way to Pak Ou, but knowing that didn't deter from the fun. We didn't have much expectations and actually had a fun time chatting wit...  more »
  • It's a village that sells exotic whisky and wine, in which the whisky is merged in scorpions, snakes, and something else. It's okay, I guess, if you like that sort of stuff.  more »
