Wat Xieng Mouane affords visitors a look at an intricately decorated and visually impressive Buddhist temple, its unusual design adorned with paintings reflecting Buddha's life. The monastery dates back to 1879 and runs a UNESCO-funded training program for young monks, teaching woodcarving, painting, and Buddha-casting to help maintain the region's temples. • The temples are amazing and you can walk around inside of them, where you can see the detailed painting and statues inside. Entry fee is 20,000KIP which isn't too bad.
