Tad Thong Waterfall, Luang Prabang

3.4
#4 of 6 in Nature in Luang Prabang
Time your visit to the jungle accordingly to visit Tad Thong Waterfall, the disappearing waterfalls. This series of small waterfalls only appears in the rainy season, which lasts from July to January. The route starts from a restaurant, and people generally complete a full circle back to it in about an hour. YOu can also swim in the waterfall pools. Take a picture of the map at the entrance to know where to go, and wear good hiking shoes, since the path is uneven in certain places. • If there is still time left or good target for a bike or scooter trip is on abandoned places,. Was once put much work into the development, in the meantime some expired, but all paths are accessible. A waterfall was not clearly marked dry, the road to the village. The GNATS are somewhat annoying, DEET or long clothes make sense. 20,000 kip entrance fee. Swimming in the Lake.

  • A very nice jungley trail with a few small waterfalls. A little bit run down but nobody else there. A pleasant afternoon.
  • Rocky road, no signs or indications to the trailhead. Motorbikes beware, we got a flat going up. Luckily there was a small village that had someone who fixed the tube in the tire. It cost 10,000 kip. Found the trailhead eventually but didn’t get to the end because we had no clue how far it was.
  • Not much water in the dry season but the short hike trough the forest, an hour without visiting the village, is really nice.
  • It is possible that the bike falls in Tadthong it is possible to only be gone (the bike is much more than half the dirt road to the cigar boom in Tanjung malim. Street. Ask if you get no snake as well)
