Take a glimpse in the history of royal families at Palazzo Reale, and witness artistic gold motifs. When you enter, you'll see paintings of Laotian monarchs and murals on the wall showing the lifestyle of past times. A statue of Buddha, made in gold, bronze, and silver, draws attention. Continue to secretariat room, where the museum exhibits gifts the royal family received, or visit the throne room, which boasts some valuable royal possessions and Buddha images. Be aware that you cannot take photos inside the residence. Also, dress appropriately (for instance, women cannot enter if wearing a short skirt). • The Royal Palace in Luang Prabang is located in the foothills of Mount Phousi, citizen tourist hub within its complex there are three main buildings: the Ho Pha Bang (Chapel of the Royal Palace), the Museum and the National Theatre). The chapel contains the oldest (or copy of it) and most important of the site, it is a small statue of about eighty cm representing a Buddha standing with both your palms outstretched forward in place of protection, is orally handed down as a work of the first century. BC from Sri Lanka, but the reality of his style and historical textures place him more realistically as produced around 1300 in khmer area, and from there came to Laos as a donation by the rulers of Angkor to Fa Ngum founder of the Kingdom of Lane Xang. The Kingdom of Laos, quello che Phra Keo poses to the Kingdom of Siam. The Chapel is of recent construction (anni ' 90 of the last century), very scenic, perhaps even exaggerated, especially in the scale, it is forbidden to photograph inside. Opposite the chapel there is the theatre, which seems to be the least important of the area and building that offers colonial style architectural lines. At the bottom of the garden there is the National Museum, the former home of the last rulers of Laos built at the beginning of ' 900, the entrance is free of charge 30,000 Lak (3, 5 €), you enter without shoes, without backpacks, women legs covered and in theory it is forbidden to photograph. The entire visit does not take a very long time, and the Museum contains various artifacts used by the Royal family, among the most valuable pieces I think the collection of weapons, for the rest, the splendor of the Kingdom of the million Elephants there is little, the House looks like vaguely genteel, both in furnishings that in form but nothing Regal or really gorgeous, I would say that a good photographer decadence of monarchy before the end of his political power in Laos. From my point of view, though not of enormous impact the visit to the Royal Palace is one of the unmissable in Luang Prabang.
