Old Quarter Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang
(4.3/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
Walk the streets with picturesque traditional houses, colonial-style villas, and Lao Buddhist temples at Old Quarter Luang Prabang, part of a bustling UNESCO-protected city area packed with history and culture. A night market, many shops, and restaurants set in pleasant two-story houses on clean, quiet streets give a totally different feel from the madness of other large Asian cities. Check out many temples with practicing monks praying or burning incense, or mingle with locals during their coffee breaks in the street. The nearby Mekong River surrounding this peninsula quarter, as well as abundant frangipani trees add to the overall charm of the place. • Really enjoyed my time here, some nice shops and a great night market (better quality than Vietnam). The restaurants and bars are so friendly and all seemed to offer good value. Such a relaxed friendl...  more »
  • It is a street with old houses used as restaurants or sale of souvenirs. There is much to choose from, at most you can sit on the sidewalk and see what happens in the street. It is a must-see on the night.

  • Go for a walk, take your time, enjoy, relax and reflect upon the charms and the past of Indochina. Looks like a movie scenario, where restaurants of French architecture mingle at Asian buildings, very beautiful and natural. Choose a coffee and enjoy with the excellent cuisine of the region. Fantastic ride!

  • Hotel Ancient Luang Prabang is placed almost correctly on the map. It needs to moved 30 m to south-west to the corner of the small alley. It is a nice hotel and quite even the night market is just outside the door.
  • Dear Sir/Madam, Please remove this property from the map or rename it because the business name had changed to Indigo House Hotel, Thanks, Sales team of Indigo House
  • Beautiful breakfast
  • Viewers beware! Google is wrong. The hotel located at the map position shown is the excellent 5-star Hotel de la Paix. The Ancient Luang Prabang Hotel is on Sakkaline Road.
