Ock Pop Tok Store, Luang Prabang

4.4
Ock Pop Tok Store cooperates with a range of tribes to preserve and showcase their rich handicraft traditions. The center isn't just a great place to pick up outstanding functional souvenirs, like silk and cotton scarves, wall hangings, and cushion covers, but also a place of learning--weaving courses are also available here for anyone interested in combining a shopping experience with a little useful education. • Not just a warm welcome, but when tests you clothes you see that is made carefully and you realize the quality of fabrics and finishes. If you want to get a nice and at the same time practical souvenir of this beautiful city feel free to visit the Boutique and take a garment, it will not be one more in your wardrobe, but which will become one of your special acquisitions. I remember with great fondness the lovely assistant that I attended and helped me decide on the purchase of a top.

  • We visited this expansive shop while having lunch next door. While the quality and beauty of its offerings are evident, I was there primarily to dine. This is where I would shop for local textiles.  more »

  • This place is amazing. They have 2 shops in town plus the workshop a bit far (they offer free transport) from the center. Here you can see the entire process of production plus courses, a coffee shop and the textiles shop.
  • Seemed like a very nice sustainable way to help local Lao nationals make an income from their skills. An incredible standard of quality, some of the art pieces were truly magnificent. They offer a free tuktuk to the weaving village where they offer a free tour and you can see people weaving and learn about the whole silk creation process! That was cool!
  • Great view with great food
  • Gorgeous linen
  • Great place to buy high quality, handmade fabrics. Nice variety, reasonable prices, and amazing craftsmanship. Note that this location is not their smaller flagship store on Sakkaline St. Both have nice merchandise but, as of Feb. 2014, this location had many more items on display.
