  • We enjoyed watching the sunset from above Luang Prabang, but the ambience was slightly spoiled by the masses of tourists. Still worth a visit but quieter sunset spots by the river aren't a bad bet eit...  more »
  • Mt. Phousi is right off the main road (Sisavangvong) and a somewhat steep but short hike up. The hill gives you a great view over the Mekong River which is particularly beautiful at sunset. Unfortunat...  more »
  • Mount Phou Si is within walking distance from town. No need to take tuk tuk. Is just in front of Royal Museum and at the end of night market street. Walk all the way up to hilltop. Best is around 6 pm...  more »

  • Amazing views of all city. In the top many Buddha and a little Pagoda. Is a very special and romantic place. You must be minimum healthy for up the top. Many steps and wet, be carefully you can slip. Highly place recommended. You mast pay a ticket.
  • Lovely place to get a bird's eye view of Luang Prabang. I went during mid day. But I heard it's a pretty good spot for sunset and sunrise view.
  • Beautiful view of the valley at sunset. It's a bit of a hike up a lot of stairs, but lots of photo opportunities along the way. Be sure to get to the top early as it was very crowded for the sunset.
  • Really nice view from the highest point in Luang Prabang town center. It is a tough enough climb to the top. You can really good sunset photos if you're willing to compete with hundreds of fellows tourists with the very same idea.
  • People mainly go for the sunset which is nice, although we found the other side much more interesting in the evening light. Even if you get there early it's a bit of a scrum to get to the front as the sun sets, depends whether you have the patience to get there early or the muscle to fight the other tourists.
