Kuang Si Falls, Luang Prabang

Categories: Waterfalls, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 5,500+ reviews on the web
Surrounded by lush tropical jungle, Kuang Si Falls feature a series of travertine cascades and turquoise pools. The three-tiered waterfall--the largest in the area--spills from the shallow pools on the top of a sheer hillside and then drops 60 m (200 ft) into a cluster of natural pools. Put on some sturdy shoes and climb the slippery trails on the side of the cascades to get to the top. Amenities include well-kept pathways and bridges, picnic tables, and wooden huts near the entrance where you can change into a swimsuit. The scenic journey to the waterfall, leading across paddy fields and past farming villages, is an attraction in its own right. • Very nice excursion. I did it on a motorcycle and enjoyed the 45 minute walk along a correct road. Inside I was almost 3 hours doing hundreds of photos to the bears and the waterfalls.
