  • We did the Classic Tour, 3 days (2 nights). Gibbon day 1-Ascension 06.30. After a quick breakfast in the Houay Xai we went to the headquarters of the Gibbon Experience in town and checked in, left our large backpacks and got to watch information films about safety mm. Transport by jeep in 2.5 hours until we could start our Trek into the jungle. One of our guides called Vong. He has worked for 2 years with Gibbon, a native of the area around here and told me that Houay Xai has about 7000 inhabitants, who mainly are farmers who grow rice, pineapple, bananas and Tangerine (type a Clementine). Our other guide Wee (I didn't tell what it means in Swedish) told me about their village located near the nature reserve and how he has worked with Gibbon in 5 years. The trek through the jungle took just over an hour with a 10-minute baguettepaus halfway. We arrived at base camp and discovered that they had a Boule Court! Quite unexpected! Since we went trekking ahead and came to our House, number 7. Our House is located 35 meters out and the view is quite magical. It's like sitting and watching a filmkuliss. The House is built in three stories, one where to zip in and out, where you will find the bathroom, level 2 is the lounge, kitchen and sleeping area and level 3 is a view point but very small space so we never sit there. We live with a few around 50 + from Quebec, Canada. They are the real hurtbullar who bikes around Asia for half a year. We took it easy the rest of the day and stayed home in the tree house. The Sun went down at 7 and then become it properly dark. We had dinner and played cards. We have really big mosquito nets by a thicker fabric so it feels like a tent. Very hard mattresses but quite comfortable anyway. Half 9, we were already nerbäddade and said goodnight! Gibbon day 2-Early this morning at 5 o'clock came the rain with lightning and Thunder. It rained pretty much over 2 hours but after breakfast so brightened it up again. We heard of gibbon monkeys sing in the trees on the other side of the Hill, unfortunately, we saw they didn't but it was really cool to listen to their song that sounds very strange and almost alien. At 9 we pulled out and went trekking all morning, we visited three different tree house by Trek and zip line, we came back home and had lunch at 1 o'clock. We both know of the knees, I have really hurt (I will go on strong anti-inflammatory tablets as soon as I find a pharmacy!). Vong is our guide as we trekkar and he shows lot of fun stuff in the jungle, today we tasted on a sheet that they call somlom, it tasted like wood sorrel. We also tasted on a leaf that was good for the stomach and a root that was generally good for health as it took Vong made tea on the House. We also got a taste of the innermost in the root portion of a banana tree which Vong broke out of a tree that has gone by. Amazingly exciting to taste their way through the jungle! Then after lunch, there was a little break, we got to rest until at 3, when the wizards came back and it was time to pull out trekking again. We went up and down along the winding djungelstigar, knees screaming in pain but it is just, and bite the bullet! We finished in a big zip-crossing where you could go in and out so that you have to decompress very without the need to go so far. These zip lines is very high up so the view was absolutely stunning, at the Center, we were about 100 meters above the ground and the afternoon light gave amazingly beautiful silhouettes of mountains farther away! DOM longest zipparna this is 500 meters long so you get up properly with speed, minimum 50 km/hour! We were back in the House at half past 6, completely exhausted both. A cold shower at the top of the House with the world's coolest bathroom views brush up both body and mind. We had dinner delivered almost immediately, so it was just to settle down the table. The evening ended with some games but the whole gang was probably pretty tired, already at half past 8 brushed teeth and we said goodnight. Gibbon day 3-last day. We woke up at 6 and we sat down and looked at how morning mist began to lighten and listened to the birds. We listened, of course, most after gibbon-apes song but today they were unfortunately not in our part of the jungle. After breakfast we packed and left the tree house. We went trekking to the great zip line junction and was zipping around in 1 hour, it was really cool but you feel that your body is pretty tired now! Then remained only the last bit back where we were taken with the jeep and headed back to town. It has been a fantastic experience and though it was much more strenuous than what we thought, so we do not regret one second!
