  • This staple of the region had the effect us of a wet firecracker: certainly, it is very beautiful but this impression of Luna Park without age has not left us all day. A very tourist attraction that has lost its authenticity or at least of its spontaneity. The historical aspect a little catch all. No there not spend more than a day unless you visit Laos for drinking beer, sleeping in hammocks of Guesthouses and swim in the Mekong.

  • I visited Si Phan Don (One Thousand Islands) in September 2017 coming from Cambodia. It is located just at the boarder of both countries. It is about a natural wonder of the Mekong River that is becom...  more »
  • It begins with a journey by canoe to join one of these islands... Then you will feel immediately refreshed. Possibility to rent a bike or a scooter to the day to walk around. Then ride on the Mekong River to see the freshwater dolphins. Brefff a place ideal to relax and disconnect. I went to these places during the month of April, outside peak periods. But in terms of the number of this hotel on the island I guess that during high season these islands should be invaded by tourists

Where to stay in Champasak Town

Champasak's only main street in Champasak plays home to most of the area's accommodations. This street stretches on either side of the town's fountain, and runs along the river. Lodgings range from basic homestays and guesthouses to more upscale resorts and hotels. You shouldn't have trouble finding a place to stay in Champasak, unless you come during the Wat Phu Champasak Festival in late January and early February. If all options in town happen to be full, look for more accommodations in the nearby town of Don Daeng.
