Observation Deck
Enjoy retro architecture once so popular in continental Europe at KyrgyzTelecom, a modernist clock tower in central Bishkek forming part of the marble-plated Kyrgyz Telecom building. A present from Armenia as a sign of cooperation between the two Soviet socialist republics, the 40 m (131 ft) tall clock tower was donated in 1984. Part of a large paved plaza also housing the city’s general post office, the tower features an electromechanical mechanism reproducing the chimes of the Moscow Kremlin’s clock. Locals refer to it affectionately as "The Big Ben of Bishkek." Add KyrgyzTelecom and other attractions to your Bishkek trip itinerary using our Bishkek trip builder.

  • This is one of the oldest buildings in the history of Kyrgyzstan. Adobe hut with a thatched roof, which in 1885 was born Mikhail Vasilyevich Frunze. In 1925-m it was enclosed with a new building and opened a museum.

  • This is one of the most recognizable symbols of my hometown, but I have to loose one point due to the fact that somewhere in the beginning of "zero" the city authorities decided to change the dial and set new, Golden, which, in my opinion, absolutely does not match the General style of the tower. Before the tower was a beautiful stylish dial with Brown characters that looked very harmoniously and, frankly, even more modern than what it is now. In any case, the Tower remains one of the most photographed objects in the capital, which are definitely worth a visit, but as far as I know, the entrance inside is not open to the general public.
