Snake Park, Nairobi

2.4
#12 of 24 in Parks in Nairobi
Part of the National Museum of Kenya, Snake Park is a rescue center and sanctuary for reptiles and snakes. In addition to puff adders and black mambas, the park shelters several local fish species, turtles, lizards, and crocodiles. • I visited the Nairobi National Museum and Snake Park on Saturday 19 May 2018. The Snake Park alone asks for an entry fee of KES1,200 (about US$12) which is highway robbery given what the "park "provid...  more »
  • Very sad to see the caged animals. I was not expecting this. Snakes live in very small spaces. It does’t seem very well ventilated. They also breed rabbits in awful conditions to be fed to snakes.  more »
  • I have the park in the frame an excursion with local students visited, the all amazed were pigeon exhibition in particular by very large. also a few chickens are exciting. both could be pigeon breeding exhibition taken from a German. core of the railing which is hitting exhibition and can propose to touch, to carry and the snake around the neck is to lay. This is very impressive. the enclosures seem to be renewed and were also not really dirty. the exhibition about rabbit was very small and partially disappointing. There are other animals in the very small area. summarized the exhibition not worth (from the German perspective). as it is written:, native seems that issue to inspire.

  • I absolutely loved the snake park. It’s a great place to go post museum—for only 300 additional shillings ($3 USD). They have quite a few snakes, a little aquarium section, some crocodiles, and then humans—guides who are willing to give you some good details on every animal. If you make your way to the museum, be sure to visit the snake park after.
  • There's not much to see of the snakes. Good place for those looking to learn and not for fun. The aquarium was very pretty though
  • A superb collection of reptiles, experience a python around your neck. Nice rooms with fresh water and sea fishes. Outstanding for kids
  • I put a snake round my neck! Never ever thought I would... And not die.. Haha.. Must visit if you love snakes and fish.. Oh! They also have an amazing aquarium
  • Good variety of snakes, crocodiles, lizards and aquarium on display. There is an experienced snake handler available if you'd like to handle one.
