  • The hike to the rim took around 1 hour. We were a big group of several friends. It was a great hike, but challenging - and we used approximately 5-5 - 6 hours from the entrance and back - including se...  more »
  • A place not to be missed for lovers of exotic hikes. The photos speak for they same. The Park is either matatu stopping Longonot village and walking 3km to the entrance of the Park (not very interesting road) or taxi. From Naivasha, we opted for the taxi, which cost US 1500 KES (who we asked his phone number back us up for the same price). The entrance to the Park costs 26 USD. This really isn't worth taking a guide, the path is very well plotted. We have 1 hour to reach the crater, then 2:30 to make the turn at a rather rapid pace but with breaks, including photos. We went early in the morning, and were completely alone. The sky was clear and we could see off Mount Kenya, the Rift Valley, and of course the Lake Naivasha. Landscapes that we are not ready to forget! It is recommended that

  • After reading the reviews from other posters, we were a bit hesitant to do the Longonot hike, especially with the price. Let me tell you, this hike is worth every penny. Getting to the top of the rim ...  more »

  • Good hike go round to the peak and back in a day. It's a good place to visit for those who are just looking for a climbing experience that's not too tough and once you've reached the top then it's up to you to choose to walk around to the peak. Great fun.
  • Serene environment with wildlife and a marvelous hiking trail. There are shops at the base to re-energize yourself after the hike. A worthwhile experience.
  • One of the easiest hikes one can do..amazing views, and lots of geography to learn
  • A great place to explore nature. If you love hiking, this is the place to be. The joy fulfilled once you reach the top and can't imagine your journey downhill.
  • Steep hiking ground around 2600 metres but worth it when you get to the top, hiking boots and lots of water is recommended, the scenery is beautiful, catching glances of zebras and antelopes, has a wide selection of shops at the base and a welcoming Kenya Wildlife Servive team. Charges vary from citizens to tourists but it is moderately priced. A KWS card and a national or school ID will come in handy at the entrance with a relative price reduction. Camping is offered and the security and environmental cleanliness is well maintained.
