See restored rooms and laboratories that were run by Volga German detainees, and learn about the everyday activities of prisoners, including a KarLag ballet troupe. You will understand how the economy and coal mine industry of this camp fit into the larger scheme of Soviet labor camps and the development of rural areas. Hear stories from female prisoners and examine the personal belongings of ex-detainees. Set in a modern neo-classical building divided into three sections, the museum features a special exhibition about the camp in wartime.
