Seeing it from the outside looks really huge, but then at the end of the visit we wondered: is that all? And the rest? ... The rest there. Anyway we liked what we saw, including 4 terracotta soldiers from China.

Very big but uninviting. Exhibits of boring, for a one-time visit. Guide No.

Interesting Museum and see when you're passing in Astana. We regret the exorbitant price of 1000 strained to access the gold room.

Breath taking. Just amazing and rich in Kazakhstan history! And the technology is top notch. Unforgettable experience!!!

Nice museum. The exhibitions include ancient and medieval history, Hall of Astana, ethnography, nomadic times and modern history as well. You need to pay an extra 1000T fit the Hall of Gold but I found it interesting. Lots of gold jewellery and decorated items are on display and the audio guide is included. Generally there are not much detailed descriptions which made it less informative so I would recommend the audio guide.

The huge new museum is an architectural treasure of constructivism as well as a home to the Golden man and an interactive 3D map of Astana. A must see! One big minus o ly works till 5pm.

Wide, rich and big compilation of Kazakhstan's culture masterpieces. Multi-language audio guide, several souvenir shops. Good place to spend much time.

Where to stay in Astana

With the rush of building going on in Astana, the capital city adds more and more accommodations to its urban area each year. Like most planned cities, the development has started from the center and fanned out, latching onto parks and crossroads to make new commercial, business, and entertainment districts. Some sky-high hotels offer all available luxuries and impressive views across the downtown area, while some more humble hotels serve as pleasant but basic options. Hostels with shared rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms sit on the less decorated side streets of the central district.
