Khan Shatyr, Astana

(4/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Enter the enormous tent structure of Khan Shatyr for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Opened in 2006, the British-designed 150 m (492 ft) tall building is made of translucent, heat-absorbing plastic that maintains a warm temperature inside year-round. The center houses an amusement park with a drop tower, log ride, and 500 m (1,640 ft) monorail; a mini-golf course; and an indoor beach resort with paddleboats. Well-lit at night and with a variety of activities, this landmark building is especially popular with families. • I liked this place very much. Comparing to similar shopping center abroad this place has same service and shops. I also liked that I can drop my heavy winter clothes at "the garderob" and walk freely....  more »
  • This building is very interesting architectural jewel, especially from outside. There are lots of shops and even a beach. As in every popular malls are there many visitors and shoppers.
  • Especially if you want to get there on a weekend or holiday as a resident of the capital suggest going into the 13TH only on weekdays and then to lunch, you can safely walk along the boutiques and dine on a huge food court!

  • from outside it does impresed you but inside same as anyother mall you would see anyhwere in the world altough the brands are limited. there are nice cafe and restaurants on 4th floor but not in the center, you should walk around circle , on the center there are fast foods not much interesting place but your are in Kazakhstan not in new york at the and
  • Nice mall but oddly shaped inside as well as outside. Also not the best food selection. Only a food court with "fast food" types
  • Nice place to go with a family, on weakens it is possible to listen to concerts of orchestra or contemporary Kazakh singers for free
  • Best shopping center in Astana. A lot of shops, eating areas, kid areas and Sky Beach on the 5th floor. The last is a must to visit.
  • A nice mall with a good view on Astana monument. There is also a theme park at the top!
