At The Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, explore a rich collection of paintings, sculptures, graphics, and applied arts made by Kazak, Soviet, and European artists. Founded in 1976 to house the Kazakh state gallery and a museum of decorative art, the institution was renamed in the 1980s in honor of the country's first professional artist, Abylkhan Kasteyev. Today, the museum boasts over 23,000 pieces of Western European, Russian, and East Asian art. See contemporary Kazakh works, old Russian icons, paintings and drawings by 16th-century Flemish and Dutch artists, as well as tapestries, jewelry, and leather.   • We spent a couple of hours at the Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty about a week ago. It is a smaller museum but with some great permanent displays and lots of wonderful temporary...  more »
  • Sometimes in kazakh i like to walk around shop and see many good thing and then i see this and i think yes very good and so i walk inwards and see many lamp and also many paint and but lamp is better ...  more »
  • It is very cozy and small museum comapring to the other capitals of the world, but it definetely worth visiting - there was a big renovation around 7 years ago and since then it is really developping ...  more »
