First President's Park, Almaty

(4.1/5 based on 200 reviews on the web)
Relax and enjoy the large fountain at First President's Park, a 73 hectare (180 acre) arboretum set against a backdrop of spectacular mountains. Opened in 2013, the park features an elegant turquoise-domed observation deck and a curved colonnade with a marble arch commemorating the country's independence. Meanwhile, an elaborate fountain with light and music shoots water up to 30 m (98 ft). Paved lanes, flower beds, birch and fir trees, and numerous benches create an easy atmosphere for a stroll. Take some water with you as there are no shops in the park. • Convenient parking, great place to relax after a working day. Perfectly planned-when a huge number of people that visit it, no feeling of crowding. Wide alleys, cozy "chat rooms", very well thought-out system of planting trees. The best time to visit is undoubtedly summer. Since the city even at night sometimes hot, stuffy, complete calm, noise in the Park, located in the foothills, always blows a fresh breeze from the mountains, the fragrance of a rose. A wonderful view at any time of the day opens with the observation deck equipped with gazebos. And at sunset-a charming panorama of the mountains lit purple light impact of fading rays. And, no doubt, the main attraction of the Park is a musical fountain-grand structure at the entrance, fantastically illuminated. Very nice place to stay with children-can bring along sleeping pad, all for a picnic and sit on one of the many beautiful lawns. At the entrance you can rent gravity racer for detour Park; in the southern part of the Park installed simulators. And yet-it's a great place for jogging. By the way, here it is impossible to walk with the animals and ride my bike.

  • Very beautiful and spacious park. Love here vacationing with children. We take bicycles or scooters, and do walk. There are no shops and stalls selling sweets and toys for children, which is important for young mothers with young children. Only clean air, beautiful mountain views, lots of vegetation. Walk costs cheap. The only negative: little parking places.
