  • The museum itself outwardly looks impressive. Inside-so imagine, expressly without a guide myself there boring. There is no interactivity. Just take a stroll and see the entire Museum- -2 1.5 hours. No more.

  • A lot of exhibits ranging from prehistoric times and finishing with 21 century. I was lucky-drove there girlfriend, who lives in Almaty, held a mini tour, told some interesting stuff. But I think, even without excursions visit definitely worthwhile! The Museum perfectly decorated, really liked it there. Taking pictures inside, as I understood it, you cannot

  • Relatively small museum which lacks proper English descriptions. 2-3 hours should be enough to visit. I really liked the yurt and the exhibition around it. I was expecting a bit more but still worth to visit. There is a small gift shop too but it seemed overpriced.
  • Interesting place, but unfortunately, almost all exhibition, except 1st, have built in soviet style. But nice to visit. Tickets for foreigners cost 500 tenge/person in july of '16.
  • only a few short explanations in English. still worth the visit
  • I went to this museum with the promise that it was somewhere I could spend two whole days in. It has, in fact, only two permanent exhibits, one on the history of Kazakstan, and one on the life of the president. The cost seemed very inviting, but you ended up having to pay 5 times as much as the entry fee to get into the temporary exhibits too. I saw the whole place in 2 hours, and that included 1/2 hour wandering around the craft fair in the atrium.
  • Despite being national museum, it's quite small. It is interesting and it is definitely place you should visit in Almaty. Entrance for foreigners - 500 tenge.
