Marvel at the giant 371.5 m (1,219 ft) tall "syringe" of Almaty Television Tower, the world’s tallest tubular steel structure, built on the slopes of Kok Tobe Mountain near Almaty. Completed in 1983, this fabulous piece of Soviet engineering captures and broadcasts signal across rugged mountains, dominating a spectacular landscape. Observe Almaty from the deck below the tower in a small park with a mini-zoo, a restaurant, and a cafe. Designed to withstand earthquakes of up to 10 on the Richter scale, this modern steel structure features two observation decks at 146 m (479 ft) and 252 m (827 ft), accessible by two high-speed elevators.   • Tower and Tower, climb it and watch is not exactly worth it. Just look at the bottom and Hare. The city also has a copy of the Eiffel Tower, and the fun show

  • The tower is closed to the public. By Kok-Tobe Park approach does not. Aesthetically, the tower looks very so-so-surface covered with metal sheets.

  • Did not get much time to go around Almaty Tower, but when had visited to Kok-Tobe hill, did see this tower. Its nice but not allowed to enter tower.

  • Take the cable car on a clear sunny day so you get to see the beautiful mountains. You won't regret it. Have your picture taken with the famous golden apple when you reach the top. If more adventurous, try the Fast Rollercoaster ride/toboggan if you're comfortable with the thought of controlling the brakes yourself.
