Petra By Night, Petra - Wadi Musa
(2/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web)
A unique way to see the historic, rock-cut buildings and tombs, Petra By Night brings visitors up close to this 4th century BCE trading city. Plan ahead to attend a tour of the ruins, which begins with a walk through the Siq, a crevice between tall walls of rock that creates a natural tunnel for human passage. Lit by over 1,500 candles, the pathway and illuminated buildings at its end glow orange. Performers play Bedouin music and visitors each receive a cup of tea during the concert. Dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes to prepare for the short desert hike. Tours occur only at specific times and are limited, so plan ahead. • As different from my experience not displeased me although I nuance: leaves the visitor center at 20,15 o'clock. The entry costs 17 dinars and you can buy in the hotel. The candles that mark the way, are from the entrance but it can not see anything. I RECOMMEND TO TAKE A POWERFUL FLASHLIGHT. Arriving at the Treasury it's all full of candles. Get a man and gives a concert of flute and then another, who plays the rababa and sings. Then comes a Bedouin who advises us to enjoy life and be happy, asked that the three we turn the flashes from the cameras and later illuminates the treasure, with a very dim light. Also we invite you to tea. And so far the theme. Return to dark, so I recommend not to lose sight of the candles and you instruct a Saint so you don't torzáis you ankle.

  • The visit of the archaeological site of Petra at night, it is usually excluded from Tour Operator programs. Our guide told us to do it and believe it was worth it despite the cost its not cheap. You walk in the dark along the Gorge, the path is bordered by candles. When you arrive at piazza del Tesoro the show is exciting. The whole square is lit by candles placed on the ground. All visitors sit around the square to listen to songs and music clubs. Do you think the Visual impact of Honey and candle-lit square is simply unique and wonderful. I was at the beginning of November and despite the hot weather by day, at night it needed a warm jacket.
