  • The Church of St. John the Baptist is a relatively new (about the town), and stands on a hill. The points of interest here are: the copy of a mosaic (the original is in Uru in Shallows), old pictures of Madaba and the ancient foundations of the Church (with a time of the Moabites). It also has a tower, which is possible to climb, but as there was no more time, don't climb.

  • Very beautiful church, with a small estate in a contiguous building, which shows us the rebirth of the city of Madaba. Super nice guide, we entered during mass, supposedly out of hours. We visited the crypt, to not lose and we climbed up the bell tower where ds has a beautiful view over the city. Visit mandatory

  • Visit the Church of John the Baptist was remembered very vividly. The Church itself is located on the highest hill of Madaba (30 km to the southwest of Amman). near it there is a small parking lot. The entrance to the temple and climb the Bell Tower is worth 1 Jordanian dinar. Before you reach the stairs to pldnjatsja on verkh advise to visit the Acropolis, a well, and generally pass directly under the Church. You can then pocidet' in the Hall, and then climb the Bell Tower. From here you have a magnificent view of the city.
