  • This church was built to remember John, the Baptist. He was so called because he was the one who baptized Jesus in the river Jordan. It is a lovely church and I am unable to classify it's architecture...  more »
  • I have read some comments to confuse it with the St. George, which has in its interior the Mosaic map. The Church of the beheading of John the Baptist is most striking on the outside and is free. When you get a man who was there us Indian that it could climb to the Bell Tower for panoramic views of Madaba (must be careful because it gets sorting strings of the mechanism for the campaigns). Then went down to the catacombs where there are replicas of the most important mosaics from Madaba and in a showcase a stone head of San Juan Bautista, where the faithful enter donations when they want something ask the Saint. If not these long time by Madaba, nor miss you much, though like us
