The vast expanse of Wadi Araba Desert--a part of the Great Rift Valley that stretches from Aqaba to the Dead Sea--features a pristine semi-arid and sandy landscape. A number of tourist agencies in Aqaba offer tours of the desert, which you can brave on foot, in a jeep, or even on the back of a horse or camel. Enjoy the tranquility of the remote uninhabited desert while you roam among sand dunes and interesting rock formations. Most of the guided tours offer a chance to camp out in the desert overnight and visit a Bedouin camp. When I was told that in the desert of Wadi Rum need to spend at least two days, I asked, "what to do in the desert two days?". I replied "you'll see". In Wadi Rum, we came in the evening when sleeping the main heat and Sun are already not too beat down on. Bedouin Yasser, was kind enough to trouble us in the desert on his jeep, show all the most beautiful places. And it was fabulous! We ripped expanse at lightning speed, pushed with dunes, watched how our eyes change color desert: from yellow to purple. Running around barefoot on the sand, which turned out to be cool and velvety to the touch. Yaser drove us to a quiet place where we spent the most beautiful sunset in our lives, listening to silence sitting on the sand between the mountains and looked at the red desert. And at night went very quiet place in Wadi Rum. And the desert we opened completely on the other side. We lay on the mat and looked at the stars. It seemed that they can reach you. The whole sky was studded with stars of different sizes. The sky was so clear that we clearly distinguished familiar constellations and invented new, connecting neighboring star. And the desert opened to us with new side. In the morning we agreed with Yasser Abd, that it would lead to us camels. And the next morning we scoured the desert on camels, watched as the desert turns from white to yellow-grey, seen as the sun rises over Wadi Rum. Now I understand why two days in the desert a little. Because with every minute of Wadi Rum becomes completely different, new, but the same exquisitely beautiful. You can spend a week and it will be even a little.
